10,000 years of Acupuncture! The ancient man found frozen in the mountains of Asia several years ago had markings on his shoulder, which were clearly on acupuncture meridians.
What are Meridians? Streams of Energy in the body. When the energy, called Qi, is out of sync, you do not function correctly. What does this look like? Compare it to the windshield of your car in the rain. If the windshield wipers were not working together properly, they would hit each other. They would not clear the rain off and they would quickly break. Your body and your mind are like that. If your systems are not working together properly, you break down. Hormones go crazy. You get weak and sick.
According to ancient Chinese Acupuncture theory, the restoration of proper flow of Qi brings harmonious balance. You are well again.
Acupuncture is typically very pleasant. Patients often find themselves falling asleep during treatment. Needles, about as thick as a hair, are so small that they are practically painless. You may not even know the needles are in place. The most common sensations are tingling, warmth, heaviness or the feeling of the movement of energy along the meridians.
Chiropractors certified in acupuncture use sterile, disposable needles.
Wear loose clothing. Women should not wear one piece dresses or stockings.
As with any health-related treatment, the length of time for each treatment and the number of treatments will vary significantly depending on factors such as the severity of the condition, how long you have been incapacitated, your body’s readiness to heal, your ability to lie still and to use relaxation, meditation or prayer to assist you in getting well. The use of recommended exercise and diet may help, along with the possibility of certain nutritional supplements such as vitamins, herbs and homeopathy. It is best to be well rested, moderately fed, emotionally at ease and not overly stimulated when you arrive for your appointment. Don’t run ten miles out to the doctor to be on time for your visit!
Come a few minutes early and enjoy the pleasant environment.
