Logan Basic Technique

human pelvis and sacrumOne of the reasons why we offer this popular adjusting technique is because of the incredible results it produces for our patients. This is primarily due to its focus on the “foundation” of the spine and the minimal-pressure delivery style.

The Foundation of Your Spine

Consider the foundation of your house. If you notice hairline cracks in your walls or ceiling, or doors and windows that don’t open as they should, a settling foundation could be to blame. It’s the same thing when it comes to your spine.

Found at the base of your spine, the 24 moving segments of your spinal column are supported by the sacrum, that triangular-shaped bone. The sacrum is located between the two bones that form your right and left hip. Naturally, problems in this area can produce compensatory problems higher up in the spine.

How It Works

The Logan Basic Technique uses light, sustained force applied against a specific contact point on the sacrum at the base of the spine. This method uses the muscular structure that surrounds the sacrum as a lever system for balancing the complete structure of the spine. Specific segments along the spine are adjusted while the contact point is held.

Quick and Gentle

The adjustment is brief, taking just 3-5 minutes. The amount of force used is about the same level that’s used to gently press on a closed eyelid. Because Logan Basic is one of the lowest force adjustment techniques available, we can use this method on infants, young children and seniors.
